Sleeper horror hit Amnesia has proved popular enough to earn itself a sequel. Developed by Frictional Games, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs isn’t a direct sequel and will feature a brand new cast of characters to be horribly killed and emotionally tortured. Set in Mexico, it will follow a wealthy industrialist who gets in over his head after taking an ill-fated trip.
The game will include the work of Dan Pinchbeck, writer of the recent indie darling Dear, Esther. Although the game will not feature any of the characters from the first game, Pinchbeck confirms it is set in the same universe as the original.
The game is due for a 2012 release but no specific date has been set. The dev team has stated that they are aiming to release it before October in time for Halloween. It will be available on the PC.
