Free To Play "The Simpsons" iOS Title In The Works

With 500 episodes in the can, it seems a little late to worry about overexposing the Simpson‘s franchise. With a new free to play title starring Springfield’s first family, EA is hoping that iOS users want to bring Homer on the road with them.  In Simpsons: Tapped Out, players have to clean up town after Homer manages to cause a nuclear incident. Players will get quests from popular characters on the show which will give them the tools necessary to rebuild Springfield and to recreate one of the most famous TV landscapes in your own image.

Of course, free to play doesn’t mean there’s no money to be made. Like popular titles such as Kingdom of Loathing, players will have only a limited number of  actions they can take during a single day.  For truly unlimited play, users will need to purchase extra credits in the form of, naturally, doughnuts.

There’s no firm release date in place for Tapped Out, but the game looks to be pretty far along in the development process. EA also plans to release an Android version of the title at a later date.
