There has been a bit of confusion lately due to Dell’s recent post on their official website. In the post, they claimed that all Windows 8 apps will run without a problem on the Xbox One. If this was true, compatibility and synchronization between Microsoft devices would be unheard of. Unfortunately, this is not the case. In an official statement by Microsoft, they denied this being true and stated that it was not as simple as “Copy and Paste.” While they run on the same kernel, both platforms have different architectures in hardware and software. Porting apps will not be impossible though, it may even be easier because the two platforms do share similarities. However, don’t expect every single app to make its way to the Xbox One on day one.
