Jabra CLIPPER Review

Product Info

The Jabra CLIPPER is a small stereo Bluetooth headset that, according to the product’s official website, “offers wireless freedom.” So, does the device truly offer wireless freedom? Or, does it not hold up to its lofty promises?

In short, yes. There were a few minimal problems, but for the most part, it was surprising how awesome the CLIPPER truly is.

When I first received the device, its look was what caught my eye. The CLIPPER has a sleek, minimalist design with a single button in the center (you press different parts of the button to do different things) that controls everything- volume, turning the device on, pairing, call control – everything.

At first, I didn’t like the single, center control. It was a bit difficult to get the CLIPPER paired with my phone the first time, and the fact that turning the device off and pairing it is only differentiated by how long you hold the center button down didn’t help.

But then I fiddled around it with it for a bit, and it wasn’t long before I got used to the control method. I must say that once I got used to how the controls worked, using the CLIPPER was a breeze.

The area that truly shines for the CLIPPER though, is its sound quality. I am not going to lie, I wasn’t expecting much in terms of quality out of the device. After all, it’s maybe an inch long; how good could it possible be?

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

The CLIPPER sounds amazing. Sound quality is clean and crisp, the bass is deep and booming and frankly, I cannot recall a single time that the sound ever faltered in quality.

And I listened the heck out of the little CLIPPER. I streamed movies, I played my 3DS with it, I listened to music, my wife took it to work and listened to it nearly all day (without it dying once, mind you), etc. etc.

The sound that the CLIPPER put out makes it, in all honesty, one of the best Bluetooth headsets/pair of headphones I have ever used in my life. Granted, I’m not some super technophile when it comes to things like headphones, but I do know what sounds good. The Jabra CLIPPER sounds very good.

So, did the Jabra CLIPPER hold up to its lofty promises?

Score: 4.5/5

In short, the device is pretty amazing for it’s size, especially considering its reasonable price tag (currently priced at $59.99). The CLIPPER offers great sound quality, surprisingly deep bass and clear, crisp sound that honestly, I did not expect to come out of it. The CLIPPER is a worthwhile purchase, whether you’re a hardcore gamer or someone that only listens to music on the bus while heading to work. The Jabra CLIPPER should not be passed up.
