In a fit of holiday cheer, Humble Bundle just announced that their total contribution to various charitable causes to date has exceeded $50 million.
Charities benefitting from the digital videogame provider include Child’s Play Charity, the American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. According to representatives at Humble Bundle, these contributions have “helped people with disabilities enjoy games, provided emergency medical aid, funded health care, brought books to schools in Africa, brought clean water to developing countries, and much more.”
Humble Bundle handles these charity donations by allowing customers to purchase games at a price they set themselves. Players get to allocate how much and where their money goes to, whether it be a charity, the content creators, or Humble Bundle itself. Humble Bundle launched online in 2010.
