Reddit user “Yorf-Limzo” has undertaken the mammoth task of simulating an entire millennium in Football Manager 2015, and has handily compiled some of the most surprising revelations into a single concise post. It took 58 days to simulate the entirety of English football from 2015 to 3015.
The project yielded some very interesting results. Though mainstays like Man Utd and Arsenal performed well initially, it only took a few hundred years for outliers like Stoke, Burnley and Sheffield Utd to start winning Premier League titles, with the latter two emerging as the most powerful clubs by 3015. Some international data was also recorded, including the fact that Netherlands will not win a World Cup until 2586.
As a Lincoln City ‘supporter’, I find it hilarious – but not at all surprising – that my home side will lose 740 matches in the Europa League within the span of 996 years.
“Yorf-Limzo’s” comprehensive spreadsheet can be found here, although it leaves out any mention of the role hoverboards will take in 3000s football, or how many titles Arsene Wenger’s Head In A Jar will take home for the (Laser) Gunners.
